David and Goliath

From the night road to Bethlehem to the baby in the manger, the shepherds and the wise men. Tap the scene to meet the verse behind each place.

The first news the angel brought the shepherds was not a command but a gift: today, in the town of David, a Savior has been born for you. The baby in the manger came to us now just as He came to the shepherds that night.

Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!

Bethlehem

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel—One whose origins are of old, from the days of eternity.

Joseph

So Joseph also went up from Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, since he was from the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to him in marriage and was expecting a child.

Mary

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it happen to me according to your word.” Then the angel left her.

The Road to Bethlehem

The baby in the manger

And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”

But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Born in a Stable

The shepherds

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby, who was lying in the manger.

The star from the East

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stood over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with great delight.

The wise men

On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh.
